Our Story
The ABTL story is that of innovation, excellence, and applaudable agility. Incorporated in May 2005, Apapa Bulk Terminal Limited (ABTL) was established as the specialized bulk services provider and a subsidiary of the Company, Flour Mills of Nigeria (FMN). With an unwavering commitment to excellent delivery, ABTL continued to operate in line with global best standards and practices, a feat that endeared the Company to all its stakeholders.
Today, ABTL is one of the six entities within the Brand 'FMN' six business verticals. We provide a spectrum of services for different stakeholders in line with their specialized bulk services needs. Our broad range of service offerings includes open and closed storage, ship repair facilities, cargo handling and consolidation, equipment rentals and lease, bonded warehousing, as well as multi-modal cargo distribution and delivery.
Driven by an unwavering commitment to enriching the lives of our people within and outside the organization, we have consistently made investments in human capital development, ensuring the full adoption of our culture of excellence. In 2025, ABTL, through the parent Brand "FMN", was recognized by the internationally acclaimed Port News (as it marks its 30th anniversary) as an indispensable ally for Nigeria and West Africa. In the words of the trusted port media outfit, "Flour Mills of Nigeria holds an ubiquitous presence in Nigeria and West Africa. The company has also played pioneering and foremost roles in shipping development in Nigeria, thus giving skills and jobs to generations of Nigerians over time. Flour Mills of Nigeria deserves Nigeria's gratitude. They will be honoured with the Port Legend Award."
Following the progressive restructuring of FMN, ABTL became a Free Trade Zone in 2024 under the name Apapa Bulk Terminal FZE (ABT FZE).
To lead in the provision of specialized bulk terminal services in Nigeria.
To be a trusted partner in the delivery of competitive port services, helping to grow our stakeholders, our company and its people.
